Resignation Letters of Tuitt and Weekes
Adelina Tuitt
The
absents of honesty and integrity within the coalition government and the
inability of our leader to negotiate with the British Government without
confrontation and deception are more reasons for me to ask why not now. We need
a leader who is capable of establishing healthy working relationships both at
home and a broad. This of course can only redound to the benefit of the people
of the people of this beloved country.
Recent decisions and other relations relating to the use of public funds have placed me in a completely untenable position and have left me no alternative than to resign my position from the government. I have thought long and hard in order to come to this decision and have found that any compromise will be invading on the premise on which I have based by entire political career.
Mr Rupert Weekes
There
are several things with which I am greatly displeased, some of which have
recently come to fore and in my view are not in the best interest of our people
and certainly dose not reflect good governance.
It is also my view that this situation has reached an intolerable stage and have therefore left me with no choice but to resign. It is my hope Sir that this action will pave the way for general election.
The Honourable David Brandt and Acting Minister Idabelle Meade will continue to run the government affairs until the General Elections are held on April 2nd 2001.
Electoral Dates have been set.
